A look back at 2017

A look back at 2017 It’s that time of year where we start looking to the bright, new year ahead of us. However, before we think about popping open the bubbles at midnight to see in 2018 and leave 2017 behind us – we’ve been taking a look back at what’s been happening in the last twelve months. Constantly striving to provide a shopping experience like no other, we have made a number of changes this year to bring the best showroom spaces, teams and products to you, our customers. So, without further ado, these are things we’ve been enjoying this year and how you have all been a part of creating a fantastic 2017… More showrooms for you to get comfortable in!  Our showrooms have been popping up all over the UK in 2017. We made a permanent base in Guildford with the opening of our new high street showroom, as well as opening pop-up versions of our stylish stores in Nottingham, Leeds, Brighton, Marlow, Bristol and Kilver Court. Over 10,000 of you have visited our pop-up showrooms this year – that’s a lot of sofa testing!  We look forward to meeting another 10,000 of you in 2018!

Collaborations and partnerships

This year, we’ve been working closely with a number of industry experts and interior designers to bring you on-trend advice, inspiration and when it comes to our work with Sophie Robinson, lots and lots of colour! Sophie Robinson took us into her world of colour when she gave our Bluebell love seat a makeover for the party season. We also spent some time catching up with her earlier in the year, where we discussed her experience in the industry, what’s changed and how she developed her crush on colour.  Find out what she had to say in our full interview here: At home with Sophie Robinson.

Doesn’t our Bluebell loveseat look amazing?

As part of our ‘at home with’ series, we also partnered with the lovely 2LG boys, Jordon and Russel. The Two Lovely Gays discussed the best things about their job, their latest renovations and which sofa.com products they love! Here they’ve used our stunning Izzy corner in Deep Turquoise pure cotton matt velvet.

Our social media channel was a buzz of excitement from our followers when Giovanna Fletcher showcased our gorgeous Patrick sofa in our Sunshine pure cotton matt velvet in her home renovation.  We later joined Giovanna at home to discuss renovating with small children around, deciding on colours and where she finds her inspiration. Did you miss it? You can read our full interview here: At home with Giovanna Fletcher.

Nearly 18,000 of you loved Giovanna’s sunshine sofa just as much as we do!

We teamed up with Hypnos… Hundreds of you woke up beautifully this year after we partnered with world-renowned mattress makers Hypnos and introduced four new luxury mattresses to our range of beds. With over 100 years in the business and the proud owner of the Royal Warrant since 1929, Hypnos was the perfect choice for us to partner with. If you haven’t yet discovered their range of mattresses at sofa.com, you can see them here: Hypnos mattresses.

… And Farrow & Ball! Our showrooms were taken over this year with specially hosted events with the fabulous Farrow & Ball. Our evenings of colour included expert discussions with Farrow & Ball’s International Colour Consultant Joa Studholm who shared her expert advice on using colour in your home. Everyone who attended was treated to canapés, bubbles and a goody bag! Did you miss out? Don’t worry, keep an eye out for more sofa.com events in 2018!

Design Lab ’17: As part of each new season collection, we collaborate with some of the best designers in the industry to bring you exclusive fabrics to upholster your favourite styles in.  SS’17 saw us partner with the incredible Imogen Heath who bought naturally inspired colours and floral patterns to sofa.com.  Our Autumn / Winter ’17 collaboration went in a very different direction, with a partnership with tile artisan specialist Bert & May who created two bespoke, exclusive designs; Asquith and Santona.
