Interior Trends

update your home for spring!

The days are getting longer, the skies are getting clearer, and we’ve even started spotting daffodils and bluebells in bloom. It’s official – Spring is on its way making it the perfect time for an interiors update… When we consider Spring it’s easy to think of pastel hues, feminine patterns, and flowers in full bloom. But that doesn’t mean fans of minimal and monochrome homes can’t also get their space ready for the new season. Minimal homes tend to be light and airy providing the perfect setting for spring living. Read our guide for our favourite finds to complete the look in your home.

1 – We know it’s a slight cliche, but its a cliche for a reason! Flowers for Spring are an undeniable part of design as the warmer months approach. Cherry blossom isn’t too over powreing and will fit in nicely in a minimal setting. Rockett St George do a very convincing faux set which can be brought out year after year, saving you a few pennies! 2 & 3 – Changing up your scatter cushions is an easy and relatively cheap way to update your home for the seasons.  Consider swapping black & white for something with some more colour. Our house scatter cushions in Blush and Rose are very subtle in tone and go perfectly with grey and black colourways. 4 – Spring is a time to sit back and appreciate our natural world. If you’re an animal lover this rather powerful and majestic picture, available from Trowbridge, features a European Red Deer complete with antlers that spread across the three frames. It’s important that a minimal home still manages to have some impact, and this striking image does just the trick. 5 – The Fleetwood sofabed is our take on the European “click-clack” sofabed and in just two seconds you can transform this scandi-inspired design into a sleepy haven. What’s more, it’s a generous 10% off if you buy before the 4th April 2016! 6 & 7 – It’s the little bits and pieces that end up making a house a home. To fit the minimal scheme, we’ve chosen these smooth lined tea lights available from H&M. Their copper colour coordinates perfectly with the grey and pink tones and can be used all year round. 8 – Let’s face it. We broke our New Years resolution or Lent promise within the first few days. If you’re wanting to get back on the healthy boat take a look at Hugh Acheson’s cookbook, Broad Fork, which answers all those unanswered questions about what to do with those rogue vegetables you find lying around in your fridge. 9 – What better way to serve up your new culinary creations than with some beautifiul salad servers. We love this simple yet sophisticated set from Oliver Bonas which have a beautiful hammered copper texture (to match the tealights!)
