Senior Area/Multi-site Manager

 

Do you want to be part of a fun, motivated team working in a company that is rapidly expanding across the UK. We are looking for an experienced senior Area Manager to oversee four of our world-class showrooms within the UK with the possibility of acquiring more stores as the company expands and opportunity to manage other Multi-site Managers.

Who we’re looking for:

A confident, commercially astute, highly organised and ambitious person with a friendly, ‘can do’ attitude and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You will be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the showrooms under your remit, with a key focus on maximising sales and showroom profitability paying particular attention to maintaining and building on customer service and operational standards, maximising brand image, enhancing team development and providing inspirational leadership and support to the teams you manage.

You enjoy working with and leading a team of talented and motivated individuals, in a growing business with a multi-million pound annual turnover.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Meet and exceed sales targets and increase profits
  • Analyse all reports and commercial information available to help improve the performance of showrooms
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the full range of commercial metrics (CR, AOV, sales targets, footfall, dwell time etc)
  • Understand fully the omni-channel nature of the business and all associated sales channels and functions, and strive to optimise this omni-channel capacity throughout the business
  • Identify current retail trends, monitor competitor activity, reporting and responding where appropriate
  • Inspire and lead showroom managers to ensure impeccable standards are established and maintained in all stores across all channels, including administration, housekeeping, systems and operational procedure
  • Provide feedback to management and VM manager on the merchandising standards in store, highlighting opportunities and development areas
  • Nurture and develop a culture of exceptional customer service by ensuring that all teams adhere to company guidelines and expectations as laid out in the mystery shopper reports and training guides
  • Build strong and professional relationships with each manager and assistant manager, providing leadership, guidance and support through regular store visits
  • Providing coaching for new and existing managers to ensure individual capabilities are recognised and skills developed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an area management role managing high performance sales teams
  • Experience in the furniture retail sector (preferable but not essential)
  • An ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Availability to travel as needed
  • A passion for customer service and ability to work under pressure

As an Area Manager, your days will be busy and varied. You will be based predominantly within one of our London showrooms, but will be required to travel regularly across the UK to oversee the stores within your remit.

In House Graphic Designer

 

We’re on the lookout for a strong middle weight graphic designer to join our team and help us continue to sell beautiful comfy sofas (and everything else!) by supporting our creative team! We are looking for someone who is really creative, enthusiastic and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.

You will be joining the company at a really exciting time, with a huge amount of expansion and career opportunities. The office can be pretty fast paced at times, and being the sole in-house designer you’ll need to hit the ground running.

You’ll be working closely with the Marketing team, eCommerce, Buying and Merchandising and Visual Merchandise teams. So the work can be varied and you’ll need to feel comfortable liaising with all departments on a daily basis and working across a number of creative projects at once.

Required skills:
• Relevant graphic design degree and approximately 4 years of commercial experience
• Fully proficient in creative cloud
• You’ll need to upload adverts to various print publications, so you’ll really need a strong understanding of exporting for print.
• Fully confident in preparing files for both print and web (RGB vs CMYK)
• Fully proficient in designing for web. We run promotions at a fast pace, and you’ll be responsible for preparing every digital asset that’s required, from homepage sliders, Google ads and email banners.
• Image categorising.
• Will be the sole in house designer, so must feel confident making decisions, managing workflow and a strong communicator
• Highly detail oriented, you should be committed to producing stellar work which is on-brand
• Ability to prioritize many tasks and deliver projects on time
• Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with individuals at all levels within the company

Visual Merchandising Coordinator

 

Are you looking to launch your career with a fun and dynamic retailer? Do you fancy working in a fantastic, world-class showroom overlooking the Thames and travelling across the country?

We are super excited here at sofa.com HQ because we are growing really quickly! This means that everyone at sofa.com HQ is really busy… and we need your creative eye to help!

 

As a Visual Merchandising Coordinator, you will be supporting and assisting the VM team by providing sales analysis, administrative and graphic support, supply-chain co-ordination, as well as assisting with VM displays and projects. You will need to order all stock for the showrooms using our internal system, communicate with all stores to ensure stock levels are maintained, coordinate key VM projects to ensure the showrooms are all kept looking their best and more.

 

You will need to be highly organised, have a business understanding, and be technically minded and able to master computer programs quickly. We also need you to be flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication skills. Although you will predominantly be based in our HQ, there is definitely scope for you to travel to remote showrooms and support the VM team in the field. The perfect visual merchandising coordinator will have advanced Microsoft Office, CAD and Photoshop skills, be motivated, have retail experience, and be a team player. It is also desirable, yet not essential, for you to have a business or merchandising related degree.

Join the delivery team (Cat. B or Cat. C/C1)

We’re looking for a skilled driver to join our fun and motivated delivery team at sofa.com.

Based in our Hayes warehouse in Greater London, you will take on a varied role, making deliveries in and around London or across the UK one day, and doing a shift at our warehouse the next. As the final point of face-to-face contact with our customers, the role requires you to be presentable, punctual, possess good English speaking skills, and be physically fit and healthy.

We’re looking for a team player who enjoys exceeding customer expectations by delivering a great service to them.

Our delivery schedule is dictated by the volume of sales; your hours will be flexible so you’ll need to be too – available at short notice and living no more than 10 miles from the UB3 postcode area. You must be 21 years of age or over for vehicle insurance purposes, and it is essential that you have experience, a full UK driving license in Cat. B or Cat. C/C1, and a digital card. Full training will be given on site at our warehouse along with a driving assessment.
