Get the look: Christmas Snowdrop special

Decorating your home to get into the festive spirit over Christmas doesn’t necessarily mean you need to turn your home into a full-blown winter wonderland.  Whether you choose to deck the halls with a stylish colour-coordinated scheme to show off your love for bright interiors or you want to beautifully demonstrate a more rustic looking setting, this is one of the best times to let your character inspire how you dress up your home.

If decorating at Christmas is something that you find more stressful than stress-free, stop getting your tinsel in a twist and find inspiration from our subtle Christmas scheme showcasing our aptly named, Snowdrop sofa.

1 – Snowdrop two and a half seat sofa in Seashell house basket weave; £1,340,

Elegantly designed and a truly classic style, our Snowdrop sofa provides a fuss-free shape so the room can be effortlessly styled around it.  The neutral white fabric lends itself perfectly to a very seasonal icy winter wonderland! We’ve opted to use this subtle palette so the Christmas decorations around it really stand out.

2 – Isaac footstool in Cambridge Blue brushed linen cotton; £220,

If you can’t put your feet up at Christmas, when can you? Our sturdy little Isaac footstool is perfect if you’re looking for a little bit of laid-back luxury. Use it as a footstool to rest after a long day Christmas shopping, pull it out for extra guests when they pop round or it makes a great place to rest snacks for you and your guests to enjoy. Plus, with its handy removable covers, you don’t need to worry about spillages or crumbs ruining your favourite spot to rest your feet during the manic Christmas period!

3 – Birch Chevron large rug, £919,

One of the best ways to tie a room together is by laying down a rug. Our Birch Chevron rug combines a modern, yet elegant design which doesn’t clash with any brighter colours used in the more festive pieces hanging from the tree.

4 – House Scatter Cushions: 55 x 55 in Pebble showcase rustic linen and 45 x 45 in Ash soft wool, £40,

Decorating with cushions is one of the most simple, yet effective, ways to pull together all of the other elements in the room. Choose contrasting colours to your sofa, but ones that when combined they create a harmonious an stylish setting.  Our cool blue and grey tones give a hint of the winter season but remain inviting and welcoming.

5 – Lambswool Herringbone Throw, (coming soon to showrooms)

Curl up with it, use it to create further texture in your room or use it to add a pop of colour –  you can’t really go wrong with a super-soft throw.  These beautiful 100% Merino Lambswool throws are available in a number of shades so you can choose the one which best complements your home, and what’s even better, they will be available to purchase in our showrooms very soon!

Now for the fun bit which comes round only once a year!

Create a tree even Santa would be proud of by starting with the lights first! Wrap your tree from the bottom up, with lights of your choice, and then take each ornament and evenly space them around the tree. Stick to one at a time to ensure you do not have any empty patches or cluttered areas (it sounds simple, but it does make sense!).  Mix and match different shapes, but for a more cohesive and complete looking tree, stick to one colour scheme of complementing colours.

  • Classic Christmas colours, red and green. Accent the green tree with red ornaments, garlands and ribbons. If you want to add some pizazz with one metallic colour, try gold or silver. Red, green or clear lights would work best.
  • Wintry colours, like blue, silver and purple. Use your tree to imitate the icy, glittering colours of a snowy Christmas. If you choose this scheme, try to avoid mixing in anything red, yellow, or golden. Pick clear or blue lights to go with it. For a truly minimalist winter look, use only white and silver decorations.
  • Metallic colours, such as gold, silver and bronze. The good news is that metallic colours are easy to mix, and you can play with one, two or three. They’re best accented with clear lights.

We’ve gone for a classic combination of silver and red, with gold accents for our tree – which you can replicate with the decorations below.
