Color Swatch: Yellow & Grey

03.05.2012

Happy days: our best blogging buddy, Will from Bright Bazaar, has once again come up trumps for the sofa.com Comfy Blog and here returns to his top tip-giving antics. This time, how to work this season's hottest colors, yellow and grey, into your home. Enjoy!

Yellow and grey is one of those timeless color schemes that doesn't fade as each season passes, nor does it become dated just months after investing in it for a new decorating scheme. It's a sophisticated and stylish color palette that's ideal for formal living rooms.

The Bluebell sofa in Ash soft wool would have to be my pick if I were to introduce this color scheme into my home. With the Ash covered Bluebell in place, I'd then set about dressing the sofa. To keep the overall look feeling grown up, I would accent the lighter Ash grey of the sofa covering with some darker, almost charcoal grey scatter cushions. One or two surprise additions of yellow are enough to lift the palette, making it feel fresh and not stuffy or overly formal.

If you're looking to use this palette in a more youthful, playful scheme, simply switch out the multiple greys for more yellow pieces. - Will
