our collaboration with Angie Lewin, one of Britain’s leading printmakersNov 17, 2011
St Jude’s are the first designers we’ve worked with in the Design Lab and the result is an exciting, limited edition collection of sofas and chairs using work by Angie Lewin, Mark Hearld and Emily Sutton.
Angie Lewin, one of the founders of St Jude’s and a very successful artist and printmaker, is described by The Sunday Times as ‘…one of Britain’s leading printmakers’. Angie creates limited edition linocut, wood engraving, lithograph and screen prints – inspired by skeletal plantforms seen against the sea and sky of North Norfolk and the Scottish Highlands. She is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Print makers and of The Society of Wood Engravers.
We’ve chosen to use Angie’s ‘Hedgerow’ design on our Iggy sofa and Commander chair. Hedgerow has a strong mid-century feel and on our 2 seater Iggy sofa (£1,580) would look lovely in a contemporary or more traditional setting.
We’ve used a green and grey colourway of ‘Hedgerow’ on our Commander armchair (£720). This makes for a really on-trend piece as wingback chairs have made a serious comeback in the world of interiors, and look set to be a popular choice for the next few seasons.
